So, Why Dive the USS Oriskany?
The USS Oriskany (CV/CVA-34), nicknamed “The Mighty O”, is a 904-foot U.S. Navy aircraft carrier turned into the world’s largest intentionally created artificial reef. Sunk on May 17, 2006, this historic vessel now rests in 212 feet of water, with its upper sections starting at 84 feet, making it a dream destination for advanced recreational and technical divers. Diving the Oriskany isn’t just a dive—it’s an exploration of a vast underwater ecosystem.
A Living Reef Full of Marine Life
