James P. Harrison is a seasoned dive professional with over 14 years of experience in the scuba diving industry. He brings more than two decades of operational and leadership expertise from his distinguished career as a Battalion Chief with the City Fire Department, where he led high-performing teams in critical and high-stakes environments.
Currently pursuing an MBA, James is channeling his passion for adventure and service into launching Valkyrie Dive Adventures—a pioneering initiative dedicated to making advanced adventure diving accessible to enthusiasts around the globe. Beyond exploration, Valkyrie Dive Adventures is deeply committed to social impact, offering therapeutic dive experiences specifically designed to support individuals affected by PTSD. Through facilitated and sponsored excursions, the venture promotes healing, resilience, and personal transformation.
Lars Lane / dive instructor
Lars Lane brings over three decades of distinguished service in law enforcement, including leadership roles as a SWAT team leader. His career spans critical public safety positions, including serving as a fireman and has three decades of law enforcement in the state of Florida. His deep commitment to safety, discipline, and operational excellence has made him a trusted figure in high-stakes environments.
An accomplished scuba diver since 1998, Lars holds the prestigious SSI Elite Instructor certification and is proficient in both Open Circuit and Rebreather diving systems. His dedication to service extends into the community, where he has volunteered to teach scuba diving to disabled veterans—merging technical expertise with a passion for empowerment and inclusion. Lars’ unique blend of tactical leadership, instructional experience, and community engagement positions him as a valuable asset in ventures focused on safety training, veteran support, and outdoor adventure industries.
Betty Phan / Travel Booking + Training
Betty Phan is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of proven leadership in management and healthcare operations. As a Revenue Cycle Manager, she has consistently driven financial performance through expert oversight of general ledger reconciliation, profit and loss analysis, and the implementation and training of electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Outside of her corporate role, Betty has served for several years as a Travel and Training Specialist at a local dive shop, combining her passion for scuba diving—certified as a Master Diver since 2016—with her commitment to education and adventure. Her unique blend of operational excellence, leadership, and community service makes her a compelling partner for ventures focused on healthcare innovation, professional training, and experiential wellness.
